Taste of Dubuque

  • National Mississippi River Museum & Aquarium 350 East 3rd Street Dubuque, IA, 52001 United States

The 21st annual Taste of Dubuque will be held on Thursday, August 4, 2016 from 5 – 10:30 p.m. on the grounds of the National Mississippi River Museum & Aquarium. The event again will be held in the parking area at the River Plaza between the two buildings of the National Mississippi River Museum & Aquarium at the corner of 3rd and Bell Streets in the Port of Dubuque. There is no admission fee to enter the Taste of Dubuque. Donations will be accepted at the gate.

The Taste of Dubuque provides the perfect opportunity to sample some of the city’s best food. Each food vendor will be offering sample-sized, low-cost, portions of their choice to provide the opportunity to have just a “taste.”

New this year, “Taste on Tap” A Beer Tasting Event, will be held in an exclusive tent at the Taste of Dubuque event site. “Taste on Tap” will run from 5 – 7 p.m. Featuring local breweries “Taste on Tap” will give visitors a taste of Dubuque’s local breweries. Admission to “Taste on Tap” A Beer Tasting Event is $20 in advance (at the Museum & Aquarium box office) or $25 dollars at the door and includes tastings from local and regional breweries and a souvenir sampling glass. Visitors must be 21 years old to enter the “Taste on Tap” tent.

Four live bands on two stages will anchor the entertainment at this year’s Taste. The main stage will feature live music by Zero2Sixty headlining from 8:00 to 10:30 p.m. and Backroads playing from 5 to 7 p.m. The acoustic-music stage will feature 5th Fret from 8:30 to 10:30 p.m. with Grit & Glory performing from 6 to 8 p.m. on the River’s Edge Café Patio between the National River Center and the Port of Dubuque Marina and Boat Docks.

The main sponsor of Taste of Dubuque, Collins Community Credit Union, will again be providing reusable plastic water bottles to replace bottled water at the event. Additionally, to further lessen the carbon footprint of Taste of Dubuque food vendors will not be allowed to serve food in styrofoam containers.

Parking for the Taste of Dubuque will be available in the Port of Dubuque public parking ramp.

Admission to the Taste of Dubuque is free; however, the Dubuque County Historical Society will be accepting donations at the admission gate. All proceeds will benefit the National Mississippi River Museum & Aquarium, Mathias Ham House Historic Site and the National Rivers Hall of Fame — all properties operated and maintained by the Dubuque County Historical Society.
