Thirty years ago, on the anniversary of the National March on Washington for Lesbian and Gay Rights, we first observed National Coming Out Day as a reminder that one of our most basic tools is the power of coming out. One out of every two Americans has someone close to them who is gay or lesbian. For transgender people, that number is only one in 10.

2019 Lgbtq+ Pride Family Picnic

Join the LGBTQ+ Community and Allies for a fun filled Pride Family Picnic! Live DJ (including Karaoke) with Nuclear Karaoke, bounce house, City of Dubuque - Leisure Services Rec-N-Roll trailer, LGBTQ+ educational displays, photo booth by Briana Thompson Creative Studio Briana Thompson, games (high heel races!) and food. Lunch service begins at 12:30 p.m. until gone.

The public event will take place at Murphy Park (off Grandview Ave.) in the Bennett Building (large pavilion area located at the bottom of the park).

EVENT UPDATES:
-The first 150 adults will have a chance to win cool raffle prizes!
-Many Pride giveaways at the Prudential, Multicultural Family Center, The Crow's Nest and Hillcrest resource tables (and possibly other tables!)
-There are picnic tables, but it can't hurt to bring lawn chairs and maybe a picnic blanket.
-Sunscreen and bug (those gnats!) spray recommended.
